greening
04:44
|
|||
I am trapped
I am leaning
my branches snap
I am leaving
am I am dead
am I am dreaming
I am become greening
my life has fled
into the west
the nest I cradled tumbles
I am grieving
is this is sleep
am I am dead
I am I dreaming
I am become greening
I am dried out
I am cried out
my face has cracked
my back is curled and creaking
is this is sleep
my life is lost
beneath the frost
I am become greening

crying's not a crime
02:42
|
|||
I clipped it off a thicket
I picked it from the vine
I ripped it off a ticket
I dripped it on a dime
I lost it at a crossing
I made it up my mind
that just ain't no way to live, I saw it on a sign
I smelled it on the season
I saw it in the times
history don't repeat but at least it always rhymes
I took it on the train and I laid it on the line
I tried to contain it, but crying's not a crime
I lit it on a lighter
I licked it off a lime
I sifted it the sand and I stripped it from the mine
I stole it in a secret I forgot how to find
I know you're not asleep yet, but crying's not a crime

lusterful bricks
05:16
|

six hundred, three-score, and six
talents of gold
shining lusterful bricks
gold all the lampposts and gold on the street
gold on their necks but no shoes on their feet
gold on the table and gold on their teeth
gold on their lips but no food at the feast
six hundred, three-score, and six
just repeat
the shadow of turning is never complete
columns and pillars all wrapped in gold leaf
gold all the vessels and gold on the seat
six hundred, three-score, and six golden beasts
sitting atop the temple watch over the sheep
six hundred, three-score, and six
just repeat
it's the number of man and he sows what he reaps

je's us

Jesus came to me and showed me his heart
I was crying, he was gold and shining
Jesus came to me and showed me his heart
I was crying, and so was he
I stand before
an open door
it was September 23

the weight

Night Stalking
I’ve been night stalking again. For alone, in the woods, at night, I learn a great many things.
Secrets are revealed between first and second sleep.
But always bring your stick or staff or stave when stalking the wood, and brook, and crossroad
in the night,
For you never know when your brother shall fall upon you like a wildcat,
Silent from above, terrifying power,
And you shall be forced to grapple with him, to struggle for your very life,
With the Lord your God, your shadow and reflection,
Your greater and more terrible half.
And should you survive,
You will return home to bed with a precious stone, and secret blessing which grants a sound sleep,
And should you not survive…
No one will be the wiser.

Heurons
We’ve gone into our own head, frozen in thought.
A consistent reality, frozen in a single moment of time, a single thought.
When we gaze up at the night, we can see the evidence of this disintegration splayed out before us.
The dome of His heaven, the smooth of our Golgot.
The neurons which were once active and flashing and herons shimmering at a fanatic rate,
Are frozen in place.
The stars of the heavens are locked in a single instant of thought,
Making reality consistent.
I have seen direct evidence of this,
Though I didn’t realize it at the time.
I saw the stars move, like a flock of startled birds.
I blinked and rubbed my eyes, but the outrage continued.
I ran inside to pull out my witness,
But they had settled in their new positions,
And my thought had frozen in my new reality, though I didn’t appreciate it at the time.
I never do.

dread pilot
03:48
|
|||
she shook her head and bit her lip
overhead the dread pilot
cracked his whip and laughed his face
dropped his bombs in clear blue space
empty vessels underneath
shut your eyes and clench your teeth
she shook her head and bit her lip
overhead the dread pilot
cuz you couldn't spend another lonely Saturday
and another restless Sunday afternoon
even though you know you won't remember anyway
can't help asking does it have to end so soon
underneath a clear blue moon
sudden sense impending doom
washes over icy grip
sinking feeling in the pit
she rolled her toe and rubbed her hip
overhead the dread pilot
clicks his heels and winks goodbye
disappears into clear blue sky

swords and cups
05:07
|

reality's strange but reality's stranger
you'll never be safe but you're never in danger
cast aside your cloak and dagger
the game is over fold it up
shake it straight press it smooth
turning over swords and cups
shake it straight press it smooth
turn it over fold it up
swords and cups
cast aside your quills and ink
the show is over no one blinked
broken chains missing link
the war is over drain the sink
